The American electorate is being asked to pretend everything is normal despite the evidence before their own eyes. [View all]

Specifically, that we still have a functional and legitimate two-party system which represents the more or less full spectrum of
"average" American voters. It could be reasonably considered that this was never the case or that the current state of dissolution is a relatively recent construct. The voters seem to have essentially the same composition, expressing the same interests and diversity as ever but the luminescent elephant (accidental pun) in the room is that one of the parties is consciously mandating its followers take on a perverse mantle of personality worship never before seen in American Politics. It may be assumed this sort of manic, enforced and inorganic exclusivity will put off many traditional Republicans, thus benefiting the Democrats this fall.

The conclusions are:
>Old guard Republicans will desert their Grand Old Party in statistically significant numbers and turn toward Democratic candidates. It is logical that this will so play. Like sociological osmosis in a pressurized crucible.
>Democrats should see record support and turnout.
>This will be an event more similar to our historic Civil War than a quadrennial election.
>The horse race is over, the legislature ours for the taking.
>The USSC is within reach, as well, because impeachment will be thick as smoke in the air (thanks to Trump's "retribution" ranting).
>The season of boundless change bears down upon us with the conclusive mutability of an avalanche.
