LINCOLN — A judge has dismissed a change of venue request by a woman charged with making up a gay hate crime.

Charlie Rogers filed a motion Nov. 16 seeking to move the location of her trial on a misdemeanor charge of false reporting. On Wednesday, her attorney, Brett McArthur, withdrew the motion.

Lancaster County Judge Gale Pokorny dismissed it with prejudice, meaning it cannot be filed a second time.

The written motion argued that Rogers would not be able to seat an impartial jury because of pervasive news coverage of the case.
