(249 posts)14. Same... we all need more than a split second.
I'm really disappointed in Robert Reich.
I got his Substack email, which was lovely until this part:
"Joe Biden was not forced out. He did nothing wrong. His problem is that hes old and is losing some of the capacities that dwindle with old age.
Even among people who are not president, old age inevitably triggers denial. How many elderly people do you know who accept that they cant do the things they used to do, or think they should be able to do? How many willingly give up the keys to their car?"
Whatever case Reich wants to make for how President Biden exited the race, I don't think, in this particular moment, that was at all necessary.

OP
Everyone in the Democratic party will rightly praise Biden, we shouldn't hold it against them.

What a joke - their relentless attacks and whispering campaign drove President Biden from the race.

A new vice president is new - which will require ballot changes in all 50 states.

We can acknowledge his exemplary 50 years of public service and still not think he's the best candidate for 4 more years

Biden chose to step down based on his own decision. This idea that he was pushed out is a Republican talking point now.

How wonderful President Biden is doesn't address his ability to beat Trump in November.
