(54,201 posts)91. You posted 5 negative posts in just the last hour. That only helps Trump.
People can be happy that Biden was pushed to pass the torch and still think he is a hero. The two are not mutually exclusive. In fact, that's what most Dems think.
Reality forced Biden out of the race. He had the love of country to acknowledge that painful reality and pass the baton to Kamala. He did not have to make that decision. He could have tried to cling to power, like Trump. He did not.
Try to appreciate Joe for the excellent decision he made, rather than forcing us to endure your vote-depressing seething. We can't afford it in this environment.

OP
It better be a normal boring convention where delegates will vote for a specific person and not an open

Like this reception of Bobby Kennedy at the 1964 Democratic Convention, just 9 months after the JFK assassination?

I am still fucking furious about it. And I think half or more of the folks here are misreading this situation.

Why would "hard core Biden supporters" ignore his call for them to support Kamala?

Same reason Bernie supporters did in 16. Just because many of you wanted a different candidate.doesn't mean

A lower percent of Bernie voters voted for Trump than HRC supporters voted for McCain

Not really...when Carter lost, he was ignored completely...the same thing happened to Bush.

There is no doubt in my mind that he will be invited. He will speak. He will nail it. He will galvanize the convention.

Sorry guys. It doesn't work that way. Biden is honorable and I am sure Biden was hurt since friends, colleagues
