As many of you know, I practiced dentistry in Center City Philadelphia for well over forty years and lived in Montgomery County, about four miles from the City Line
I treated a number of patients who either went to school with Josh Shapiro, were adult friends of his and his family, and someone (and his family)who I will not name who works directly for him presently in his administration.
I have had many many conversations about Governor Shapiro over the years all the way back when he was the pristinely honest member and then chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, attorney general for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and now of course, Governor.
Not once, NOT ONCE, have I ever heard anyone impugn his integrity or intellect, and believe me, I had a few Republicans in my chair over the years. I dont want to get into details for obvious reasons but the fact that he was and is so well regarded by the vast number of people who have dealt with him personally and professionally is testimony to his political strength.
Whatever decision is finally made by the Vice-President, a decision which I will absolutely respect, I want you all to know that from everyone I have ever spoken to about the Governor, respect and admiration for his honesty and professionalism was a given.
As a post-script: I still see patients one day a month in Philly and very recently saw an individual very very close to the Governor. This person disclosed nothing but personal feelings about the process and the ramifications for this person. Absolutely no inside baseball.
