(15,008 posts)24. I'm for increasing the minimum as well.
The point is to start making our system better for all working people, and not punish workers who could save for their retirement. The original 85 reform only affected people with the equivalent of 150,000 in income. Because of inflation that limit goes lower every year and that is just wrong.

I think it's viewed and treated the same as any other pension funded by untaxed dollars.

The problem is the middle class is over-taxed. There has been a massive shift onto the middle class starting in the 80s.

We pay taxes on part of our joint SS, and our outside income is certainly not substantial
