67. I get a lot of flack for what follows...but it MUST be said.

These problems (and they are artfully and fully described above by Dread Pirate Roberts - kudos!) have a more sinister and common root and it runs DEEP - deeper than any state ever could. What is this malign force? How could such a malignant presence go undetected? Did you hit your head on something today?

The root cause of all of this misinformation, disinformation and preying on the gullible and the desperate has its roots in religion and the movement of revival preachers. Once you convince people (borrowing from the master, George Carlin now) that:

When it comes to bullshit though, you have to stand in AWE of religion. No contest. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

Put another way, many professing Christians believe more in the words and lies of Donald Trump than the supposed revealed truth of existence from Jesus Christ and the Gospels themselves.

When people are willing to first suspend disbelief to the point that: a bloody torture, and self-sacrifice of the godhead to itself by killing itself in the name of redeeming its own known 'plan'; via the mechanism of first impregnating a virgin woman (can't have any used wombs or experiences vaginas in this equation, no-no, won't do at all), to then bring it forth onto its creation as a full man (but also remaining full god simultaneously and avoiding ALL offenses to itself or in contradiction of its old rule book given to the chosen people of the same scrub land some few thousand years previously) during its lifespan of some 33-35 years on Earth - (while running around the 1st century wastelands in the company of 12 men, a bunch of 'oldest professionals' and with no source of income or sustenance during a 3 year period of pastoral meadows and grazing herds of sheep and goats), in order to "redeem" his created image for the disobedience of the rib-woman who ate an apple at the urging of a talking snake and convinced her 'husband' (master?) to do the same.

Once you raise generations of people to allow even passing credulity to such patent nonsense, and then brain wash them with mass media obsessed with getting them to envy, covet and steal, adulter, and kill in the name of buying stuff or possessing things to make their lives less hideous and empty, its not hard to see the how, what, why and who that brought us to this nadir. Hypocrisy is the coin of the realm now, but its origin and the rot of society runs far deeper.
