I'm not sure about Canada or other English speaking countries, but I suspect the US is the odd one out. It's not a gender based slur here, though I'd never use it against another woman as an insult.
The argument I'm seeing is this is a US forum and we need to respect US culture. I'm sensitive to Americans who are offended by the word by saying c***. I'll make one exception this time only and give a nod to the Scottish lady who sadly passed away by saying that Trump is a cunt, a real cunty McCunt. Apologies to anyone offended but Asterisks would spoil that line.

I live in Scotland. I have never heard anyone in the UK use it aimed at a woman. I have heard Americans do that. n/t
