(53,188 posts)89. I am not a teacher. I worked with the kids in a medical capacity,
so I was talking to the families over video and getting to know them in a way I never had before. I will say that about 95% of them were amazing and did a wonderful job in a really difficult situation.
But, man, that 5% broke my heart.
I retired after a year of it.

They didn't hold them back a year, they just promoted them to the next grade whether they learned the material or not.
