(110,159 posts)60. i have teen boys now. and i do a lot of my parenting with back in the day, not what we see today.
because it is clear, that what is happening today, is not a healthy path for our kids. whereas back in the day, most of us made it thru.
i also see a lot of kids that are right there with my boys. a lot of parents make clear boundaries for kids.
and those that do not, have these issues.
i read a while back, that the teen is in need of boundaries and lines every bit as much as the toddler. that a lot of the two stages are the same. and that the kids appreciates the boundaries all while they fight them. mine do not really fight them. they make pretty good choices and understand as long as they continue to make good choices, they will have freedoms. otherwise, not gonna happen. that is incentive enough for them.
