How can so many people on a "progressive" board want the right-wing to take over in Venezuela? [View all]

There's no question that this result is legitimate. The only reason it was close is because Maduro is a cruddy campaigner(it had nothing to do with the issues, since Capriles has no real ideas).

Why would anyone here prefer and trust the candidate that the wealthy in Venezuela are backing? That U.S. corporations are backing?
That the State Department(and probably, God help us the CIA)supports?

It's embarassing. This is NOT what we're supposed to be about.

Those who are encouraging Capriles not to concede are helping the powerful against the powerless, and may, though they don't mean to, be helping to create the conditions for some sort of coup.

We don't want another Honduras, folks.
