The Post 9/11 GI Bill is very lucrative. Not only do you get tuition assistance and free books for many states and colleges, you also get a housing stipend of the amount that an E-5 Sergeant makes wherever you choose to go to school. Doesn't matter if you left the Army as an E-2 Private you still get the Housing stipend of an E-5. It is a pretty great deal, but a lot of soldiers don't take advantage of it.
