He's ashamed of us.

Something happened WITHING him many many years ago that he felt a need to distance himself from other black Americans.

And it has nothing to do with who he married. My parents - same family dynamic.

It has to do with something in him where he is deeply deeply ashamed of himself - and the rest of us.
