In reply to the discussion: Rev. Jesse Jackson: Paula Deen Can Be 'Redeemed' [View all]graham4anything
(11,464 posts)27. I voted for Rev. Jackson 3 times. Twice for President and once as Jerry Brown's VP in the primaries
He would have made a great President.
He was there the day Dr. King was killed.
And he is, like all good religious people, wanting to help out those, even if those they help are directly against those that
try to help.
Of course, Rev. Jackson has been vilified in the past, but it goes without saying that Jerry Brown would have won the 1992 election had they won in NYC and as such, the smear against the Rev. Jackson by the republicans and Ed Koch(shame on Ed, after the smear that was thrown at him years earlier), cost Jerry and Jesse the nomination.
It is very charitable of Rev. Jackson. He is too good.
it is more than Paula (I is what I is) Deen should have.
I am proud of Rev. Jackson, but then I have been since day one.

Living in Chicago I remember Jesse Jackson had problems with using ethnic slurs himself.

Good for Jackson. We need everyone possible, even those formerly deemed unredeemable.

I absolutely love Rev. Jackson. He's an extremely aware human being, and a total hoot. nt
