(61,850 posts)including a synthesizer and a vibraphone as classes ended one winter at Kent State. Some of the members lived in a house in Akron rented by the drummer of Chi Pig. They started off doing some sort of beebop jazz but with no horns.
I lived in a big brick house with some of the members of Tin Huey/Waitresses and we had a an eight track and a sixteen track studio called "Bushflow Studios". Others who recorded there Hammer Damage, Rubber City Rebels, Chi Pig, Waitresses, Tin Huey, Peter Loffner.
I have the lyrics to "Mongoloid" tattooed on my brain.
We've lost two Devos already - Jerry Casale and Alan Myers (both really nice people - especially Alan.
The Black Keys are the sons of one of the Tin Hueys and a member of another band who was also in the Arkon Bushflow nexus.
Some good bands there and one of the Hueys/Waitresses/Numbers band owns Jeffrey Dahmer's childhood home.
