I'm familiar with The Waitresses from way back. My wife and I met in college in the 80s, we had a mobile DJing company that did frat parties mostly, that song got a lot of play.

Had not heard Chi Pig or Tin Huey before. Really good, can definitely hear substantial overlap with Devo. I just broke out my "good" headphones, I'll be doing some more listening.

That must have been a fine time and place.

I came of age in the New York City area. Lots of great bands, but most were imports, and I never did get to see any of them at their start although I caught a few before they made it really big, most notably The Talking Heads. When I saw Devo I did notice that they stuck very tightly to the script i.e. there was really no spontaneity, but they were still really good.
