If elected (as is likely), he'll be another Tea Party disaster. You can count on it.
All that said, though, the significance of all this cannot be overstated. It's a lot bigger than one Congressional seat. If he won on an anti-corporate-state platform--if that was the reason that actually got him elected--then we'd better get some social scientists on the ground in VA to start figuring out what's going on there. How widespread is that populist sentiment? How deep? What is its revise shape? How can we (forgive the word) capitalize on it? How can we start educating people on the true causes of their misery? In short, if they're starting to recognize the problem, how do we persuade them that progressivism has the solutions?
