Sure, with the guys who make sure they get on tv to spout off, they're possibly lying for political reasons, but a lot of small business owners simply don't believe that they'll get increased business when more people have more income, or that people with more money will be willing to pay a little more for their product to offset increased labor costs.
There are some business models that do get crushed, as we saw with the indie bookstore wherever it was, that pointed out that they cannot simply raise the prices on books to make up the difference, because they don't get to set the prices in the first place, and that even if they could, they'd simply drive more traffic to Amazon. But most industries aren't like the publishing industry.
