Only they will challenge it as a violation of the 10th Amendment with the argument that the Federal government has no right to regulate in state commerce.

Of course be careful what you wish for, both sides will try to get amendments attached to it, including some you might not like, such as national recognition of CCW permits, forcing states like NY or NJ or CA to allow non-residents from Montana or Texas or Florida to carry firearms when visiting NY, NJ or CA.
