(18,186 posts)Well, I love you, anyways!
They all think they're so smart, but they always give themselves away.
Any progressive SHOULD understand why people who are being harassed by cops don't vote, so that really gave it away. I have a friend - mixed race - who was targeted by cops in another county ( where I live, cops are pretty chill ) CONSTANTLY. But he has one of the most brilliant political minds I know, and he is NOT gonna not vote, especially when he had an uncle running for office.
Well, they got him on a silly warrant right after he voted. Someone ( rich white asshole who was running against my friend's uncle so he had an axe to grind ) said something to my friend at the polling place about his "legal status." So we know it was him.
The poor kid has so many fines now, he has little hope of paying them all off. And I know from his experience alone that going to the polls when you're being targeted by cops is a dangerous venture.
I wish people would open their minds.
Anyhoo, it's been a pleasure, bravenak!
