ENRON. Rove used fear of Iraq to take control of the Senate in 2002 in order to shut down the Enron investigations. The invasion was timed to coincide with the (damning) release of the report showing that Enron really did price gouge California--with the help of the Bush administration and its FERC. That little bombshell detonated with a whimper rather than a bang because of the hype over the invasion. Half the Buish administration should have gone to jail over Enron. Instead, millions of people died to cover it up.
