Veterans Have A Message For Sarah Palin After Blaming Obama For Son’s Arrest [View all]

Republicans in Congress tried to block $1.4 billion in veteran benefits the last time they convened, and American veterans are fed up with the GOP fighting against legislation that would greatly improve their lives. After hearing Palin blame the man who actually does everything in his power to fight FOR veterans causes, they pretty much lost their sh*t.

Paul Rieckhoff, head of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), issued this message to Palin:

‘It’s not President Obama’s fault that Sarah Palin’s son has PTSD. PTSD is a very serious problem, a complicated mental health injury and I would be extremely reluctant to blame any one person in particular. This is a great opportunity for Sarah Palin to sound the alarm about PTSD, now that she has endorsed Mr. Trump, I would encourage her to talk with him about it. Mr. Trump’s campaign is pretty light on specifics about what he would do for veterans. I hope this doesn’t become a portable chew toy in a political campaign.’

Rieckhoff then blamed Palin for politicizing PTSD, and brought up some past instances (pre-PTSD) where Track Palin showed serious signs of mental defects that could have proven deadly. At just 16 years of age, Track was accused of cutting the brake lines of a school bus. Rieckhoff then explained that this wasn’t some trivial shoving match that got Track arrested:

‘(Track) struck (his girlfriend])on the left side of the head near her eye with a closed fist. (She) then got on the ground in a fetal position because she didn’t know what else he would do. Palin then kicked (her) on the right knee.’

The really ironic part about all of this is that Palin is backing a candidate who has said he would use military force to show “America’s strength,” eventually creating more veterans with PTSD. All the while, the man she is verbally attacking has gone to the point of making decisions that were not always politically pleasing in order to ensure that more veterans were not created due to the issues with Iran.
