(23,156 posts)56. Hmmm. I was going to post something about why in the world
are Christians so eager to be persecuted, but I think your take on this makes much more sense. See, they really are thinking ahead and know that jobs are very important, especially jobs in the prison industry.
And here's a little factoid: In New Mexico, there's such a shortage of prison staff that most of them are working at least 60 hours a week. One of the prisons here has only 49% of the staff it needs. Those lucky devils get to work 72 hours a week. Time and a half when you only make $13 to $14 an hour really does add up. And yes, that's what this great state pays those people.
