5. Polls in June are suspect

Carter had a 10 point lead over Reagan in national polls.

The point is that many things will happen between now and the election. I would expect these numbers to tighten up as we get closer simply because the GOP will eventually unite to defeat their common enemy.

When you look at the trend lines, Hillary hasn't really gained voters nor appeal. What's happening is mainly Trump failing to bring his side together...so far. So the widening of the gap is because of him, not because of her.
