I find it very telling that, if such policies were pursued by Bush (or now by Trump), they would be heavily criticized and rightfully so.
I don't get this idea that we are not to criticize the people we elect. To me, that is our job. Our job does not end in the voting booth. We do not and should not have blind faith in our leaders, no matter how smart or charismatic they may be. Partisanship for the sake of partisanship is really stupid. It's how we end up in stupid wars. Then again, I do have a serious problem with hero worship or adulation of any politicians regardless of their merits.
