we are a racist country and if he'd asserted himself any at all more than he did he'd been hung on times square, figuratively speaking. he'd have been hung out to dry as an angry black man and nothing would have gotten done that he so skillfully did get done

I personally had thought, hoped, whatever, that we were past all the hate and racism of the past but as soon as it looked like Obama was going to win the long knifes came out. The racist in this country started coming out of the wood work. If only he'd been a white man...
