The ideologues want it gone, and an end to Medicare and Medicaid too.

If they could get away with it, I think a block of Republican pols would prefer to "repeal and replace" by making a few tweaks and rebranding it as theirs. The ideologues and the the voter base they've created will fight that. The ideoologues tooth and nail, their base too except for some attrition as the actual effects slap some of them hard enough to knock th koolaide out of their mouths. But only some, and for many their first reaction will be to grab for another cup.
