but what's with all of this "we shouldn't talk about this now"? This is a discussion board where people discuss all kinds of things relevant to politics. Not sure why threads where people casually discuss 2020 keep getting shot down or dismissed as "too early" or not Yeah, 2018 is the first stop along the road to stopping Trump (actually, we got some statewide elections coming up this year in some states to be fair), but, seeing as we can all walk and chew gum at the same time, there's no reason NOT to discuss 2020 and who we'd like to see run even if our ideas are entirely fantastical and ludicrous. Whatever we talk about here (or don't) has little to no real-world impact and the DNC isn't going to burst into flames if we start talking about 2020 instead of 2018 (or vice versa) and nobody is going to make their decisions about running in 2020 on the basis of anything we say here on DU. I mean, does the DNC read us?
