I've never filled out an insurance form in my 3 years of coverage under the ACA. I spent about 15 minutes applying on the federal exchange, but only because I had to look up the income claimed the year before on our income tax return.
The day the ACA provisions came into effect, every insured person in America gained enormously. Coverages for the 70% who get their insurance through work changed like magic from dangerously inadequate to literally life-sustaining. And, of course, there are many million who are newly insured. Bankruptcies due to medical bills have dropped by half over the entire nation, in spite of the GOP's success in blocking millions in red states from coverage through the Medicaid extension, as a direct result of the ACA's reforms.
We all, every one of us, gained so much under the ACA that there is just no excuse for claiming otherwise.
On another thread, while expressing concern about the Democratic Party's policies, you seemed to claim here was too little difference between Republican and Democratic economic and foreign policies to matter to voters. Do you REALLY believe these things, Yurbud? And if so, why? Wanting single payer is no excuse for joining all those who claim the Democratic Party failed to provide real, important healthcare reform.
