(11,686 posts)29. Also buying 2 seats does not mean you will
not have to sit next to someone because those 2 seats could be seats not even close to each other. I have had friends who tried to get seats together and couldn't or found our when they got on the plane that the seats were actually separate.

Make the ultra-orthodox person pay for the seat on each side to keep it empty.

Airlines may not refuse to sell an unsold seat on a plane on the basis of race, sex, etc.

If it's voluntary and limited to just a few rows for religious accommodation, I don't have an issue.
