(16,245 posts)I was thinking the same thing, until I realized that there were several encounters with men or boys that made me uncomfortable. Once, when I was about 11, I was chased around the pool by a boy slightly older (and who had some developmental issues) trying to kiss me. Now, I don't know what was wrong with him exactly, but it was clear he did not understand boundaries. This was in addition to being flashed by a man when I went to the store by myself at roughly the same age.
Later in life, I was repeatedly hugged by the husband of a colleague every single time we met. He was considerably older than me and sort of avuncular so I thought little of it, other than I DID NOT WANT TO HUG HIM. But I did anyway.
I have been fortunately in my workplaces in that nothing untoward has ever happened to me.
