I agree that we may find that climate change itself can not be stopped as we have gone over a tipping point. My only hope is that technology and science, though often the problem, can also be the solution. If cheaper better ways to create energy are developed, the market will follow. Consider how unsuccessful an earlier day "Trump" would have been had he promised buggy whip manufacturers that he would get rid of autos and bring back their profits.

I remember back in 2015 when it passed, many criticized that it was not enough and that it had no real teeth. At that time, one of things that Secretary Kerry said was that it sent a big world wide signal to the market. I do think that the accord did create momentum for clean energy, that would not have happened if there was not such a strong push to create something that the US and developing countries could join.
