35. Have you read the party platform on the 2nd amendment?

I support it as written. We Democrats support the rights of individuals to own firearms subject reasonable restrictions like the assault weapon ban, limited magazine capacity, closing the gun show loophole, etc. I support all those. As for the comment you are responding to about guns in National Parks; our platform is silent on the issue, the law was signed by President Obama and I support it.

And since you ask, I cannot think of any part of the Democratic Party philosophy I would like to see changed to the right...now to the left there are many things.

I think Healthcare is a right and look to Germany and France as an example that we should emulate. It is multiple long trips starting in 2005 to these nations that led me to my road to Damascus moment.

I support stronger Unions and believe right to work laws are extremely reactionary.

I could go on and on.

Please feel free to throw up my ex-republican status anytime we disagree. It bothers me not at all and is really just a deflection from the actual issue we are discussing as if my past somehow weakens my current options.

Personally, I would love to have several million more American realize that they have been sold a load of shit for 40 years and change their minds.

Have a nice evening.
