"The owners" of what? The team, or the players on the team?

His statement implies that the players are basically the owners'
property, and that the players do not have any right to think,
speak or act as they wish or in behalf of their own interests.

This country, and everything in it, was owned by rich, white men
when it was created back in 1776. Even 250 years later, those are
the people still holding power and the constituency which Trump
represents and embodies.

There is only one word which describes what is going on politically
in our country : APARTHEID. We live in a two-tiered society,
dominated by rich, white men of privilege. Anyone outside that clique
is considered by them to be an illegitimate, lesser person -- the
"other" Trump always refers to; the sons of bitches -- and they are
treated as such:

African Americans
Latino Americans -- especially of Mexican descent
Immigrants - especially those of color
Women
Muslims -- especially those of color
LGBTQ people
The Poor

It has been said by many others: If Tom Brady was taking a knee
during the national anthem, Trump would not be making a sound.

The people who still support this piece of trash (his base) are those
who identify with and/or support the social construct of a two-tiered
society, divided mostly on the basis of race and ethnicity.
