In reply to the discussion: Sen. Al Franken disputes report he will resign [View all]stuffmatters
(2,574 posts)65. Good. Both Bill Clinton & Maxine once stuck it out...Franken must too.
What a shitstorm of distraction this "resignation" news has gifted Trump, Moore, the Repugs Tax Plan, the end of Net Neutrality. a vote on a bipartisan bill to scuttle bank regs....all way more important events TODAY.
Why can't the Democrats just allow the investigation to proceed, QUIETLY and legitimately and do thei rmost pressing job today. Why aren't they out in their own states & its Repub districts decrying this atrocity of the Repub Tax Heist & the Repub End to Internet Equal Accesson on Dec 14th(!). Instead the news tonight will be Franken, Franken, Franken.

If Franken resigns he should immediately announce to run in the special election to replace himself

Senator Franken welcomed an investigation. He has the support of his constituents, Trump does not.

I am particularly disappointed in Kirsten Gillibrand. She was my congresswoman.

That is pretty much what I emailed. Minnesota needs a Senator to vote their interests
