(345 posts)Didn't drop out soon enough to get the name off the ballot. Still drawing ~2% of the vote, and it would sure be nice to see even half that over in the Sinema column.
Woulda been nice to see half the Green vote over in the Clinton column, too, ya know.
My point is that we're at a defining point in history where our actual continued existence as a species is essentially on the ballot, every election. To build the kind of political strength that is needed to affect the changes we need to address the challenges we face, we need to win multiple elections, in a row, at all levels. Our situation is dire, and the Green party needs to realize that by continuing as a separate entity on nearly every ballot, they are doing more to ensure that their concerns will be ignored in government than they are to affect actual change.
To put it bluntly, if there ain't no human species, there ain't no Green party. So let's get our continued existence secured first, and we'll get back to entertaining marginal vanity political parties very shortly after, I can assure you.
