Outside of actual combat, night air-to-air refueling while dodging thunderstorms is the riskiest thing you can do in an airplane.
IMHO

Once I had two of aircraft in my four ship flight collide as we were joining on the tanker.
Both pilots survived.

Another time the flight leader pulled in too close to the tanker, put a big kink in the refueling hose, and ripped the steel refueling boom off of his left wing.

Refueling was always exciting.
