All the GOP have are stories.

Their investigations have turned up no facts in the past, so, story telling about the "truth" is what they're about. Stories are all they have.

The GOP tells its "story" of governing while the Democrats actually govern.

Living for years on "reality" media feeds, their adherents don't know the difference.

For the Right, Alt-fact is understood as story. So, story to them equals fact.
