42. How? It is not possible amymore, too many guns and far too many who will kill LEO's trying to

enforce a nationwide ban. Millions will violently resist with deadly force, and out in many rural areas and smaller cities, the sheriff's and other local LEO's will never enforce it. In 2017, there were an estimated 393 million guns in the US. Around 8-10 million are produced per year, now on average, so we are likely at 420-430 million or so now.

Plus (before all that) until the SCOTUS rules the 2nd Amendment doesn't guarantee the right to bear arms, there is no basis in law to even ban them. IF Breyer doesn't retire within the next 14, 16 or so months, and if we do not pass any of the voter rights bills, there is the good chance the SCOTUS will be 6-2 RW down the road if we lose the Senate in 2022 and fail to take it back. If we lose POTUS in 2024 and also fail to take the Senate, it will be 7-2 hard RW, and if Sotomayor's chronic life-long and worsening Type-1 diabetes forces her out, then 8-1 RW. We very likely will never see a Rethug-controlled Senate ever again give a Dem POTUS even a vote on a SCOTUS nominee, even if they leave it vacant for 4,6, 8 or more years. At some point we will HAVE to massively expand the Supreme Court more than likely, just to bring it back to some sort of balance.

This is not hyperbole, unfortunately, the path to there only takes a series of wrong results, a series of very possible ones, far from long shots.
