Peoria police identified the man they believe went on a shooting spree in the West Valley on Thursday, killing one person and injuring 13 others, according to Maricopa County Superior Court records.
Ashin Scott Tricarico, 19, of Surprise, is suspected of being the man driving a white Volkswagen SUV on Thursday who terrorized West Valley residents for an hour and a half, according to court records.
Police say Tricarico was in the vehicle when he was found in the area of 147th and Grand avenues. He was arrested and later booked into a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, five counts of aggravated assault, five counts of drive-by shooting, and one count of endangerment.
While being questioned about the shooting spree, Tricarico claimed that people had been after him after he was a security guard and was suspected of shooting a man on May 5 at a Phoenix sports bar. He said he saw people pointing guns at him wherever he went.
