Obama Campaign Asks Wis DOJ For Action on GOP Voter Suppression Plans [View all]

As Meteor Blades posted earlier today, Wisconsin GOP poll watchers are getting incredibly wrong information in their training sessions. The Obama Campaign has asked that Wisconsin Attorney General JB Van Hollen (Republican) to look into the obvious and incorrect voter suppression tactics that GOP poll watchers are being taught.

The top lawyer for President Barack Obama's campaign asked Tuesday for Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen to look into reports that Republican challenger Mitt Romney is training poll watchers using inaccurate information.

For instance, the training material says Wisconsin individuals cannot vote on Nov. 6 if they've been "convicted of treason, a felony, or bribery.” Actually, state residents convicted of felonies can vote once they've completed their sentence.


Neither Van Hollens office or the Romney campaign had any comment.
