Every judge should have at least a vague idea of the gist of every article in the Constitution in addition to the basic tenets of the law.

All federal judges should be familiar with these issues, not just Supreme Court nominees.

Agree. In order to make rulings on a case, Judges review the law and constitution as it pertains.
