committed and he would not have access to guns then.
She HAD decided to get him INTO treatment, from what I've read. And not outpatient treatment, either. He didn't want to go.
If she'd made that determination and lived to follow through, the massacre would not have happened.
This law would have applied if she'd had the chance to see to his needs with the help of professionals and the legal system.

It's not ownership in that case. It's access. He would be removed from the guns.
