(15,480 posts)12. The whole devolution of powers to members of the UK is fascinating.
The UK has devolved the most powers to Scotland, some to Wales and Northern Ireland and none-zero-nada to England. Within England, regional devolution has only extended to London where the Greater London Authority has greater powers than other local authority bodies. Proposals for other Regional Assemblies in England have been indefinitely postponed following the rejection in a 2004 referendum of proposals for the North East.
The situation of devolving different levels of power to different member states (and one city) of the UK would be analgous to devolving different powers to the West Coast, Midwest, Northeast, Deep South and New York City.

Well, no - BoS is a subsidiary of Lloyds, and Clydesdale said they'd do the same thing
