OMG!!! Imagine! Unlike the warnings of some posters that college life would be flat and dull without the greeks; students wouldn't learn management skills, etc., the European/British universities provide outstanding educations and social activities. My eldest did her undergrad degree at University College, Dublin, Ireland. She represented her class in the Student Senate and played intercollegiate women's football (soccer); belonged to the riding club which provided her with Irish hunters to ride; and the banking club, which paid for student trips to London (Threadneedle Street), the European Parliament (then in Strasbourg) & Paris. Students interested in sailing were provided with ocean going sailboats of various sizes. All these student activities were completely financed by the University. Her tuition (back in the 80's) was about $500 a year, which left her well able to afford weekend and bank holiday trips to the continent.
And her education (honors degree in economics) was superior. When she did an MBA in the US, she ended up tutoring her fellow students in statistics.
