The swastika is not an offensive symbol in China, where it is regularly used in art and various patterns. In addition to the Hindu symbolism others have discussed, the swastika is a symbol of changelessness and eternity in Tibetan Buddhism, and is considered a symbol of auspiciousness in China.
With so many of the worlds goods now coming from Asia, it's inevitable that we'll continue to see things like this happen.
