I was scared of being drafted. I was scared of my friends and family being drafted. I was scared from watching folks I knew come home from Viet Nam totally fucked up, sometimes physically and sometimes mentally. i was scared of picking up my home town newspaper and reading the list of casualties every week.

I was scared of the crazy ass politicians who were deciding it was a good idea to sent young Americans overseas to fight in a goddamn civil war that could not ever possibly be won and it didn't matter a rat's shit to our national interests anyway.

I was scared of the crazy racists who were hell bent on keeping the minorities "in their place". And yes, I was scared of the minorities who were rioting and setting fire to their own cities.

On the plus side, though, the music was awesome.
