" State leaders have ordered that four fluid-injection wells in eastern Ohio will be "indefinitely" prohibited from opening in the aftermath of heightened seismic activity in the area, an official said."
These are wells to dispose of frack flowback.

Even tho NYC managed to get its water supply protected...they thought... Now NYC is worried that frack triggered tremors may endanger the H2O supply aquaducts that feed water to NYC. Get on it NYC residents!

Then there is this... Do you have a mortgage on your house and a gas lease?
From the NYS Bar Assoc...
"Residential fracking carries heavy industrial risks, and the ripple effects could be tremendous. Homeowners can be confronted with uninsurable property damage for activities that they cannot control. And now a growing number of banks won’t give new mortgage loans on homes with gas leases because they don’t meet secondary mortgage market guidelines."

As to the radioactivity... it is simple... the drillers tell when they have entered the Marcellus formation by using a gamma ray detector because it is more radioactive then the surrounding formations. The Radon dissolves in the frack fluid and formation water and comes to the surface in flowback and produced water over the whole life of the well. But have no fear! Dilution is the solution to pollution! Dump it in the river or "treat" it in your municipal treatment plant, your treatment plant is designed to handle radioactivity, right?

Landscape Level Industrialization - Air Pollution from diesel engines and compressor stations... Light pollution from 24/7 drilling and stimulating operations. Habitat fragmentation from Drill pad clearing/gathering line clearing/compressor station construction. Noise pollution from all of the above. 40-60,000 wells in NYS 120,000 in PA (or something like that) for the next 30-50 years.

As mentioned earlier once the Marcellus is in play then they go for the deeper Utica shale - a "stacked play"

No small deal this... play.
