There's something about these uber-religious people like Santorum who feel it's a directive from God that they run for president so they could possible make the USA into this uber religious country.

Even before Rick actually look viable I knew that he'd pick up some support. Look at the primaries - each right-wing crazy had their day in the sun as a candidate until they dove off the deep end. I think the order was Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Newt and then Santorum. And each one of those candidates looked like a winner, had tea party support but they imploded to the point that GOP voters not buying into teaparty bullshit rejected them.

Rick was the last one to be the darling of the tea party (anyone but Mitt Romney) but he surged enough at the end that he has delusions of grander that he could actually win presidency in 2016
