Just look at the way the WH is trying to zero in on the whistleblower. Why because they want to BURY the facts that have been uncovered by this whistleblower.

We have seen how a GOP orchestrated hit job on an individual such as Senator John Kerry during his run for the POTUS office can completely distort the individual's strengths and qualifications to be the President.

They want to do the same hit job on the whistleblower. Going back to his or her grade school to dig out or manufacture negative talking points to be repeated and repeated until they take hold in the minds of those already inclined to believe negatives about a rich guy who has advantages that they resent.

Anonymous who if identified, would be specifically targetted with negatives attacks. For example, if he/she voted for a Democrat while in college that would suggest a party affiliation. The fact that he/she has been a republican for the last thirty years would never be mentioned in the repetitive mantra pushed by Fox and other RW entities.

They would ignore a 20+ year veteran who served in a war zone and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. Think Lt Col. Vindman. Ignoring the "We Support veterans." Just not this kind of veteran.

They would dig out or manufacture an example of domestic trouble between partners. It would turn a case of a public shouting match between to adults into a full-blown domestic violence case being just short of attempted homicide.

NEVER, never needing to address the context of what the whistleblower said or the facts that anonymous wrote in a book.

It's an old GOP tactic that has been well-honed since Lee Atwater a Ronald Reagan advisor.
